IPL 2026: The final match of IPL 2026 will be played on 31 May at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Earlier this title match was to be played at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. But now BCCI has changed the venue of the final and while making an official announcement, it has approved Narendra Modi Stadium. In this episode, let us know why BCCI shifted the final venue of IPL 2026 from Bengaluru to Ahmedabad…
BCCI changed the venue of IPL 2026 final
On Wednesday, May 6, BCCI issued an official statement saying that IPL 2026 will conclude on May 31 with the grand final at Narendra Modi Stadium, the world’s largest cricket stadium. Due to some operational and logistics reasons, Tata IPL 2026 Playoffs will be held exclusively at three venues this season. Bengaluru was originally selected to host the final. However, due to certain requirements of the local association and authorities which were outside the scope of BCCI’s established guidelines and protocols, the venue has been shifted.
Why the hosting of IPL 2026 was snatched from Bengaluru
According to a report by news agency ANI, some Karnataka MLAs had suggested keeping him in the VIP and VVIP categories. He had also demanded that tickets should be distributed to him for IPL matches at Chinnaswamy Stadium. According to reports, this demand of the MLAs was creating problems regarding the final venue and that is why BCCI decided to change the venue.
