Knews Desk- Amid incidents of political violence after the election results in West Bengal, the murder of Chandranath Rath, personal assistant of BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, has shocked the entire state. This incident happened in Dohadiya area when he was present in his car. The attackers first fired at his driver and then fired several bullets at Chandranath Rath.

According to reports, the attackers had come on a bike and were already doing recce. After the incident, panic spread in the area and the police has started investigation. According to preliminary information, this attack was carried out in a very well-planned manner. Meanwhile, the statement of Hasirani Rath, mother of deceased Chandranath Rath, has come out, which has made people emotional. She said, “He killed my son, but I don’t want him to be hanged, I want him to get life imprisonment.” As a mother, she demanded justice, but instead of harsh punishment, she asked for life sentence.

The mother also alleged that her son had been receiving threats for a long time and the family was facing an atmosphere of fear due to political tension. He said that law and order has deteriorated in the state after the election results. Chandranath Rath’s life has also been quite inspirational. He was a brilliant student and after receiving education from Ramakrishna Mission, he served in the Indian Air Force. Later, after taking VRS, he joined politics and started working with Suvendu Adhikari. Since 2021, he was working as his personal assistant.

This incident has once again raised serious questions regarding law and order and political violence in West Bengal. Allegations and counter-allegations have intensified between the opposition and the ruling party, while the administration is busy investigating the matter.
