Sattu sherbet, popular in Bihar and Eastern India, is known to provide energy and cool the body in summers. The protein, fiber and minerals present in it not only keep the body hydrated but also make the stomach feel full for a long time. Let us know the easy method of making it.
- 2 tbsp sattu (roasted gram powder)
- 1 glass cold water
- 1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp black salt
- plain salt as per taste
- 1-2 tbsp finely chopped onion (optional)
- 1 green chilli (finely chopped)
- a little lemon juice
- Green coriander (for garnish)
Method to make Sattu Namkeen Sherbet
To make salty sattu sherbet full of taste, put sattu in a big glass or bowl and mix it well by adding water little by little. Take care that there are no lumps in it.
Now add roasted cumin powder, black salt and plain salt. You can adjust the spices as per taste. Add finely chopped onion, green chilli and lemon juice to it and mix well. This will further enhance the taste of the sherbet.
Keep the prepared sherbet in the refrigerator for 5-10 minutes or add ice to it. Add green coriander on top and serve chilled. Sattu’s salty sherbet is not only delicious in taste, but it also gives instant energy to the body.
