A Unique Wedding Story from Chickmagalur

It is often said that fate plays a role in matchmaking. A recent incident from a village in the Tarikere taluk of Chickmagalur district exemplifies this perfectly. A man, who attended a wedding as a guest, ended up leaving with the bride as his wife. This unusual turn of events occurred when the groom fled on the wedding day, prompting the guest to step in and marry the bride instead.

On a Sunday, two brothers, Ashok and Naveen, were set to marry at the same venue. Naveen was to wed a bride named Sindhu. The day before the wedding, both brothers even posed for photographs together. Family members present at the event showered blessings on the couple. However, on the wedding day, Naveen mysteriously disappeared. Upon investigation, it was revealed that he had run away at the behest of his girlfriend.

Naveen's girlfriend had threatened him, claiming she would take drastic measures if he went through with the marriage. Fearing for her safety, Naveen fled before the ceremony, arranging to meet his girlfriend in Tumakuru. After this incident, he was unreachable, leaving Sindhu and her family in distress as the wedding day approached.

Despite the absence of the groom, Ashok took the vows at the altar, while Sindhu wept as an unmarried bride. In a bid to resolve the situation, Sindhu's family decided to find a groom among the wedding guests. Chandrappa, who was present as a guest and works as a BMTC conductor, volunteered to marry Sindhu. With the consent of both families, the plan was set in motion.

Chandrappa and Sindhu exchanged vows, solidifying their bond. As news of this remarkable event spread on social media, many praised Chandrappa for his swift decision to marry, transforming the bride's and her family's sorrow into joy. Both Chandrappa and Sindhu are now happily united.
