So he decided to go into politics and got involved in politics right from his student days. He even became the President of the College Union, then gradually entered politics in his home town i.e. Purba Medinipur. Everyone from councilor to MP contested elections and everyone won. He contested 9 elections in his political career and lost only one. Now he has become the Chief Minister.
