Diljit Dosanjh rejected politics, said – entertainment is my job

Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh (Diljit Dosanjh) Wherever he goes, he definitely talks about the culture, language and pride of Punjab. Recently, when the singer and actor was offered to enter politics, he clearly rejected it. Diljit, known for his outspoken style, has clearly said that he likes his entertainment work more than politics. This became more clear when recently a group appealed to Diljit to become the new face of Punjab politics.

According to Punjabi Tribune, one title was – Can Diljit Dosanjh become the new political face of Punjab?’ Retired soldiers, people from different sections of the society and civil society workers were included in this appeal. Those who wanted Diljit is a global star and has always made Punjab as well as India proud with his talent. In such a situation, retired bureaucrat SS Boparai himself came forward and publicly requested Diljit to enter politics.

Did Diljit himself want to enter politics?

Although the special thing was that Diljit himself had never expressed any demand or desire to enter politics, yet people were looking at him for this role. But Diljit refused this appeal very politely. He wrote, ‘Never… my job is to entertain. I am very happy in my field. Thank you very much.’ Many fans also agreed with his answer. One fan wrote, ‘Thank you! Don’t waste the purpose of your life in chasing politics. You will lose yourself in that dirty path. The other one said, ‘Good answer.’

Diljit’s recent work

Diljit has been very busy lately. He worked in the Punjabi film ‘Sardar Ji 3’ in the year 2025. This year he also showed his acting skills in the Hindi film ‘Border 2’. Now his next film is Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Main Wapas Aunga’, in which actors like Vedang Raina, Sharvari Wagh and Naseeruddin Shah are with him. Apart from this, he is also out on his Aura Tour, which includes songs from his 2025 album.

Statement on Jimmy Fallon show and Khalistan supporters

Recently Diljit reached America’s famous ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon’. There he talked about the old history of Indians with Canada. Referring to the Komagata Maru incident, he said that when our people went to Canada for the first time in 1914, they were not even allowed to travel there. He told that they have built a stadium in Vancouver which is just two kilometers away from the place where the incident took place. Now 55,000 people are welcoming him in that stadium. It is a matter of great pride and happiness for them. Meanwhile, when pro-Khalistan protesters commented on Diljit at a music concert, he responded sternly to them. He said, ‘If you still have any objection to the fact that I was sitting in front of someone on television… then keep waving as many flags as you want.’
