Gujarat Titans record biggest IPL win by 77 runs over Rajasthan Royals

Gujarat Titans achieved their largest winning margin by runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday, defeating Rajasthan Royals by 77 runs in Jaipur.
Chasing a target of 230, Rajasthan Royals were bowled out for 152 runs in 16.3 overs. Spinner Rashid Khan took four wickets for 33 runs, while Jason Holder claimed three wickets for 12 runs in 2.3 overs to dismantle the Royals’ batting lineup.
This victory surpasses Gujarat Titans’ previous biggest win by 62 runs against Mumbai Indians in the 2023 edition qualifier. For Rajasthan Royals, the 77-run defeat ranks as their fourth-worst loss by runs in IPL history.
Since becoming their home venue last season, Jaipur has been challenging for the Royals, who have lost seven of their eight matches there.
In the match, Gujarat Titans were sent to bat first by Rajasthan Royals and opened with a 118-run partnership. Sai Sudharsan scored 55 runs off 36 balls, including six fours and two sixes, while captain Shubman Gill made 84 runs off 44 balls, featuring nine fours and three sixes. Washington Sundar contributed an unbeaten 37 runs off 20 balls with two fours and three sixes, helping Gujarat reach a total of 229 for four in 20 overs.
Brijesh Sharma was Rajasthan Royals’ leading wicket-taker with two wickets for 47 runs.
During the chase, Rajasthan Royals began aggressively with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scoring 36 runs off 16 balls, including three fours and three sixes, and Dhruv Jurel adding 24 runs off 10 balls, including a four and two sixes. However, Rashid Khan and Jason Holder’s bowling quickly curtailed the innings.
Following this win, Gujarat Titans occupy second place on the points table with seven victories and four defeats, while Rajasthan Royals sit fifth with six wins and five losses, accumulating 12 points.
