Amidst the swearing-in ceremony of TVK chief Vijay as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress. While Rahul Gandhi was sharing the stage with Vijay in Chennai, while addressing BJP workers in the neighboring state Karnataka, PM Modi termed Congress as a parasitic party.
In the program organized in Bengaluru, the Prime Minister accused the Congress of betraying its allies. He said that Congress can go to any extent for power and abandons its old allies as soon as it gets a chance.
Congress targeted for leaving DMK and joining TVK
Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked Congress for keeping distance from DMK and coming together with TVK. He said, it has become a parasitic party. These people are fighting among themselves for the looted money. As soon as she gets a chance, she is ready to betray even her colleague. Congress has hardly betrayed any party. PM Modi said that in the last three decades, DMK had pulled Congress out of trouble many times, but as political circumstances changed, Congress abandoned its ally.
UPA era also mentioned
The Prime Minister said that during UPA-1 and UPA-2, DMK had saved the Congress government from difficult situations many times. Despite this, now Congress is betraying the same ally. He accused Congress of betraying its allies in its lust for power.
Karnataka government also targeted
Prime Minister Modi also cornered the Congress government of Karnataka in his speech. He said that instead of solving public issues, the state government is embroiled in internal power struggle. He said, for the last three years in Karnataka, instead of solving the problems of the people, most of the government’s time has been spent in solving internal conflicts. The Congress government remained surrounded by uncertainty regarding leadership and power-sharing arrangements.
Siddaramaiah-DK Shivakumar controversy mentioned
Without naming names, the Prime Minister also pointed to the ongoing leadership dispute between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar.
He said that Congress has not yet been able to decide for how long the Chief Minister will remain in office and in whose hands the leadership will go. PM Modi said, he is not able to decide how long the Chief Minister will remain in office. They are also not able to decide whether someone else will get a chance or not. Everything is hanging in the balance.
Congress accused of false promises
Prime Minister Modi said that Congress governments start facing anti-incumbency within a few months, because the party does not have a clear agenda of governance. He said, this is because Congress only knows how to deceive people. They themselves are liars, and their guarantees are also false. There is no chapter on governance in the book of power of Congress.
Called BJP a symbol of stability
The Prime Minister described BJP and NDA as symbols of political stability and development. He said that the election results across the country are indicating the increasing support base of BJP. He also mentioned the formation of NDA government in Puducherry for the second consecutive time, return to power in Assam, BJP’s lead in West Bengal and the party’s big victory in Gujarat civic elections. PM Modi said that the saffron sun is rising from Bengaluru and the political expansion of BJP is continuously increasing.
