The Prime Minister encouraged farmers to adopt solar-powered options instead of diesel-powered irrigation pumps. He suggested that this step will reduce the dependence on fuel in farming.
Consider responsible lifestyle as patriotism
Apart from personal suggestions, the Prime Minister said that patriotism also means responsible behavior in difficult times. He said that citizens can support the country not only by making sacrifices but also by taking such everyday decisions which will reduce the economic pressure during the global crisis.

The Prime Minister has also appealed not to do some things. From buying gold to not going abroad, he appealed to the countrymen.
Avoid going abroad and getting married abroad
The PM told the countrymen to avoid foreign travel unless necessary. Postpone your plans to take a holiday abroad. Reduce destination weddings happening abroad. Narendra Modi further said that the increasing trend of getting married abroad, traveling abroad and taking holidays abroad is now becoming common among the middle class. The Prime Minister also requested the people to reduce the purchase of gold for one year. He said that cutting down on non-essential gold purchases can help in reducing the pressure on forex reserves and imports.

PM Modi also talked about the eating habits of households. He urged families to use less cooking oil and said that this will improve personal health and the country will benefit economically by reducing imports.
