There’s been another incident on day two of IPL 2026 as Royal Challengers Bengaluru locked horns against Mumbai Indians at Raipur commentator S Badrinath faced a barrage of flak for his insensitive comment during a live commentary.

It was during the death over of the thrilling encounter when RCB all-rounder Krunal Pandya seemed to have cramps while batting at the crease under immense pressure. Clips of the incident doing rounds on social media display the commentator making a remark while Badrinath was speaking which spectators considered disrespectful towards the player.

The commentary went viral all over the internet with many stating that the former cricketer lacked empathy in the critical stage of the game. Several social media users started flooding social media platforms with tweets criticizing Badrinath. The fans were of the view that players often put themselves in a difficult situation during an IPL match and being mocked for feeling the pressure while batting was something unacceptable.

It has to be understood that players endure a tough time while batting under pressure in crucial situations and at some point, the physical and mental toll it takes should be respected and empathised with. A few users expressed their dissatisfaction regarding the commentary while questioning the commentators and asking for them to be accountable.

Krunal Pandya Played A Crucial Role.

Ignoring all the controversy, Krunal Pandya played an instrumental part in helping RCB chase down 214 and register a dramatic two-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians in what has to be the best match in the history of the Indian Premier League. The game in Raipur went to the wire with RCB needing to score runs quickly at the death.

Krunal kept his nerve and helped his side stay in the game and eventually win the game. It was RCB that secured a win in the very last ball of the innings which helped them topple over Mumbai Indians and move to the top of the table. For MI with this loss all playoff chances were officially over. Post this enthralling fixture many did not discuss the thriller as much as they discussed the controversial commentary.

The trending issue on social media had to do with S Badrinath's comment. Neither S Badrinath or the commentators have issued any response till now.
