YEIDA Expressway Project: A new high-speed expressway is going to be built to reduce traffic in Delhi-NCR and improve Jewar Airport connectivity. This 31 km long project of YEIDA can make the journey from Noida to Pari Chowk faster and easier.
The increasing traffic problem in Delhi-NCR is no longer just an everyday problem, but is being counted among the biggest urban challenges in the coming years. Especially when the Noida International Airport being built in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh is going to be fully operational soon. In such a situation, to handle the pressure of millions of passengers and heavy vehicles, the government has started preparations for a new high speed expressway. This project can completely change the connectivity of Delhi, Noida and Greater Noida in the coming time.

Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is working rapidly on this ambitious project. The proposed expressway will be built parallel to the existing Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and is being designed keeping in mind the future traffic needs of NCR.
The new route will start from Sector-94 and reach Pari Chowk.
According to the initial plan of the authority, this new expressway will start from Sector-94 of Noida. After this it will go up to Sector-150 and further it will be extended to Pari Chowk and Knowledge Park (KGP) of Greater Noida. It is believed that this corridor can become the fastest and convenient route for people going from Delhi to Jewar Airport. Currently, long traffic jams are seen between Delhi, Noida and Greater Noida during peak hours. After the airport becomes operational, the number of vehicles will increase rapidly. In such a situation, this expressway will play a big role in distributing the traffic load.
The new expressway will be 31 kilometers long
The total length of the proposed expressway has been kept at about 31.437 kilometers. It will be widened from 6 to 10 lanes so that the increasing traffic in future can be easily handled. The road will be designed for high-speed movement, which is expected to reduce travel time considerably. The most special thing about this project will be its elevated structure. About 14.2 km stretch will be made elevated, that is, the road will be built on pillars above the ground. At the same time, about 17 kilometers of road will be built on land. This will reduce the impact of traffic signals and local obstacles and vehicles will be able to move at high speed without stopping.
The project will be ready at a cost of Rs 4300 crore
According to government estimates, approximately Rs 4300 crore will be spent on this entire expressway project. Out of this, about Rs 1400 crore is estimated to be spent only on land acquisition. This is why the authority is currently focusing on preparing survey and detailed project report (DPR). According to sources, a special junction will also be built near Sector-94, which will directly connect the traffic coming from Delhi and DND Flyway to this new expressway. This can reduce the vehicular pressure inside Noida city.
Game changer will be made for Jewar Airport
Noida International Airport is being counted among the biggest airport projects of the country. After the opening of the airport, a large number of passengers from Delhi, Haryana, Western Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan will reach here. This will have a direct impact on the existing road network. In such a situation, this new expressway is not just a road project but is being considered as the future transport lifeline of the entire NCR. This will reduce the travel time from Delhi to Jewar Airport and the logistics sector is also expected to benefit.
Real estate will also get a boost in Noida-Greater Noida
Experts believe that the biggest impact of this expressway will be visible on the real estate market of Noida and Greater Noida. Due to better connectivity, property demand may increase in Sector-150, Knowledge Park and areas around Yamuna Expressway. Apart from this, new industrial and commercial projects are also likely to get a boost. Especially IT companies, warehousing and logistics sectors can increase investment around this corridor.
When can construction start?
At present, survey work is being done by YEIDA and DPR is being prepared. After completion of the report, the project will be sent forward for final approval. Construction work can start after the land acquisition and tender process is completed. If everything goes as per schedule, Delhi-NCR may get another modern high-speed expressway in the coming few years, which will reduce future traffic challenges to a great extent.
