Former Tory Mayoral candidate Susan Hall has been re-elected as boss of the London Conservatives, vowing to fight "dangerous" left-wing politics after the Greens seized three London councils in last week's local elections.
Ms Hall took direct aim at both Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan and Green rival Zack Polanski, warning both they are "on notice" after Mr Polanski's party took control of Lewisham, Hackney and Waltham Forest - deals a significant blow to Labour's once rock-solid grip on the capital.
Ms Hall said: "For ten years now, Sadiq Khan has failed Londoners and let us down - be it on crime, housing, transport and more. Out of his failure, self-invented-CV Zack Polanski is hoping to fill the gap with a new breed of politics that is not only fantasy, but dangerous."
She added: "I am vowing now as Leader of the City Hall Conservatives to fight for sensible politics that are sound with people's money, people's opportunities, and people's safety. Sadiq and Zack are on notice that I am not going to allow their nonsense to fly whilst I'm at the helm."
Ms Hall said: "As politics enters a new fractious era with dangerous consequences for getting it wrong, the City Hall Conservatives at City Hall will be representing the Londoners who want to improve our city and who know that promising the moon or fiddling the figures isn't going to deliver that."
The Conservatives vowed to keep asking questions that matter to ordinary Londoners on policing, transport and the cost of living.
But a Green Party spokesperson hit back, saying: "Green Party councillors were elected on a message of hope and an ambitious plan to build more social and affordable housing, improve public transport, and revitalise our high streets."
The spokesperson added: "Whenever Greens are elected as councillors, they tend to be re-elected - because voters see how hard they work to get things done."
The Mayor of London did not respond to a request for comment.
