Preparations have entered the final phase for the 128th annual flower show at the Government Botanical Garden, with large-scale flower arrangements currently underway ahead of the event scheduled from May 16 to May 21.
Flower Pot Arrangements Begin Ahead Of Annual Event
Flower pot arrangement work officially commenced on Monday at the botanical garden, one of the most popular tourist attractions in Ooty during the summer season.
Nearly 300 staff members are involved in the preparation work across the garden premises as part of the final stage of arrangements for the horticultural exhibition.
50,000 Flower Pots Being Arranged Across Garden
Officials said around 50,000 flower pots are being placed throughout the sprawling garden area to create decorative floral displays for visitors.

Around 275 Flower Varieties Cultivated For Show
According to horticulture department officials, nearly 275 varieties of flowers have been specially cultivated for this year’s flower show.
The collection includes several exotic flower species sourced from abroad along with seasonal flowering plants grown locally for the exhibition.
Nearly 10 Lakh Flowering Plants In Bloom
Apart from the potted displays, nearly 10 lakh flower plants across the botanical garden are also in bloom.
Preparation work is mainly focused around historic tree sections, landscaped galleries and visitor pathways inside the garden.
Japanese And Italian Garden Sections Ready
Officials added that the Japanese Garden and Italian Garden sections have also been fully prepared ahead of the annual flower show.
The garden is currently witnessing peak flowering conditions as Ooty prepares to welcome summer tourists visiting the Nilgiris region.
