A ball that was meant to confuse went for a six! Something like this happened in the 12th over when Punjab Kings were batting against Delhi Capitals at Dharamshala on May 11. And the six came from the skipper, Shreyas Iyer.
A slower dipping delivery came off Lungi Ngidi, and completely deceived Shreyas Iyer in the air, causing him to be far too early into his shot. As he committed to the stroke, his bottom hand came off the bat. Despite the "mishit," Iyer's timing was described as "incredible" as he held his pose while the ball cleared the ropes.
The straight boundary was 72 meters, and the six narrowly cleared it, measuring 73 meters. Captain Iyer scored 59 runs off 36 balls, including 3 sixes and 5 fours, at a strike rate of 163.89. Notably

Notably, this is Shreyas Iyer's fifth half-century this season. It came after three matches of struggles, and especially when Punjab desperately needed their captain to perform.

Iyer, Arya Power Punjab Past 210
Punjab Kings piled up 210/5 in 20 overs against Delhi Capitals after an explosive batting effort led by Priyansh Arya and Shreyas Iyer. Arya gave Punjab a flying start with 56 off 33 balls, smashing six sixes and helping the side reach 72 without loss in the powerplay. The opening pair added 78 in 6.5 overs before Mukesh Kumar dismissed Prabhsimran Singh for 18.
Shreyas Iyer then anchored the innings with an unbeaten 59 off 36 deliveries at a strike rate above 163. Cooper Connolly supported him with 38 from 27 balls as the duo stitched together a crucial middle-order stand. Punjab crossed 150 in 15.1 overs and accelerated further despite Mitchell Starc removing Marcus Stoinis and Shashank Singh in successive deliveries.
Suryansh Shedge’s unbeaten 21 off just eight balls powered the late surge. Delhi conceded 17 extras, while Starc finished with expensive figures of 2/57 in four overs.
