To top the points table, Gujarat Titans needed another big win, which the team achieved against Sunrisers Hyderabad by a huge margin of 82 runs. In fact, with this win, Gujarat Titans have registered their fifth consecutive win in IPL 2026 and have confirmed their place at the top position in the points table with 16 points. In this match played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Sai Sudarshan performed brilliantly for the team and scored the highest innings of 61 runs. Supporting him, Washington Sundar also scored a quick 50 runs in 33 balls and took the team to a strong position. SRH all out for just 86 runs

Sunrisers Hyderabad team, which came to chase the target, could not stand against the Gujarat bowlers and was all out after scoring just 86 runs in 14.5 overs. Captain Pat Cummins contributed the maximum 19 runs for Hyderabad. The bowling of Kagiso Rabada and Jason Holder was important in Gujarat’s victory. Both of them broke the back of Hyderabad’s batting by taking 3 wickets each. Prasidh Krishna also got 2 important successes, which kept the pressure on the opposition team.

Jason Holder gave big shocks

Jason Holder displayed his brilliant bowling and gave continuous shocks to Sunrisers Hyderabad. He dismissed Shivang Kumar as the eighth wicket. Shivang, while trying to play a scoop shot, was caught by wicketkeeper Jos Buttler, who dived forward and took a brilliant catch. Shivang returned to the pavilion after scoring 4 runs in 6 balls. Holder took 3 wickets for just 20 runs in his 4 over spell, putting Hyderabad’s batting under complete pressure. SRH’s score after 13 overs was 72/8.

Holder put Hyderabad in further trouble by taking two wickets in a single over in the 11th over. He dismissed Heinrich Klaasen on the very first ball of the over. Clausen went to play a pull shot, but the ball hit the top of the bat due to extra bounce and went into the air, which was brilliantly caught by wicketkeeper Jos Buttler while running behind. Soon after, Holder also showed the way to the pavilion to Nitish Kumar Reddy. While Nitish was trying to play a shot on the off side, the ball ended up in the hands of Washington Sundar standing at the backward point.

Prasidh Krishna also bowled brilliantly

In the 10th over, Prasidh Krishna gave the fifth blow to Sunrisers Hyderabad. The back of a length ball fell outside the off stump and came out lightly from the pitch. Salil Arora tried to drive and hit the bat and the ball took the edge and went into the gloves of wicketkeeper Jos Buttler. Buttler took a brilliant catch on the right side. Arora was out after scoring 16 runs in 13 balls.

An exciting moment came in the match when Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman Salil Arora got a lease of life on the ball of Kagiso Rabada in the eighth over. Arora could not bat properly on the back of length ball and the ball hit his body and went straight to the stumps.
