Sky News presenter Beth Rigby has spoken out after a morning of chaos erupted live on air. The journalist suffered an embarrassing on-air moment as she tried to grab a few words with MP James Murray following Prime Minister Keir Starmer's crunch cabinet meeting in Downing Street on Tuesday.

Beth cried out, claiming that she was "tethered" to her spot, as the nearby wires wrapped around her and the Sky News team tried to unravel her quickly. Sadly, it was to no avail as the reporter was forced to give up and acknowledge she wasn't going to get a moment with the politician. The clip has since gone somewhat viral on social media, being shared on X, formerly Twitter, over and over again - prompting a response from Beth.

One viewer who reposted the footage wrote: "Strangely reassuring to me that Beth Rigby is always serving high camp in these moments of national peril," to which she replied with just three words: "Here to serve."

Beth's mishap was just one of many on the news channel this morning. The programme also featured a huge glitch which saw the same image replicated over and over again momentarily. Viewers also noted sound issues.

Posting to X, one fan shared a clip of the technical error as they wrote: "If you're not watching Sky News, put it on. Absolute s***show.

"Robert Peston falling over, Beth Rigby flying across the screen to scream at MPs. Sophy Ridge ducking like someone's yeeted a grenade at her. And then this happened..."

Someone else noted: "Their coverage of all this has been embarrassingly tinpot. They have had audio issues as well."

One more fumed: "Oh for goodness sake, can they sink any lower?"

However, others found the whole debacle thoroughly entertaining. One wrote: "Glad it's not just me. I've been thoroughly entertained by the shenanigans all morning. Highlight for me so far was @BethRigby fighting with short cables while chasing the cabinet ministers."

Another echoed: "I was watching, great TV funnier than a lot of comedy shows. The media are really whipping this up. They are desperate for more drama."
