Bihar Police Recruitment 2026: The Bihar Police Headquarters is set to enhance the state's security framework by recruiting 15,821 'Special Auxiliary Police' (SAP) personnel. This recruitment will be on a contractual basis, marking a significant change as, for the first time, retired members from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) will be eligible alongside traditional ex-servicemen.
Recruitment Process
The Army Employment Welfare Organization located at Danapur Cantonment has been appointed as the nodal agency to manage the recruitment process. Recruitment rallies will be conducted from June 1st to June 6th, operating daily from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM, organized by divisions.
Eligibility Criteria
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must be permanent residents of Bihar and should present a Domicile Certificate issued by the Circle Officer (CO). Candidates should have experience with small, modern, and automatic weapons and must be retired personnel from the Army or CAPF.
Recruitment Highlights
No Physical Test Required
Notably, the SAP recruitment process does not require a physical fitness test, although a medical examination is compulsory. Candidates with specialized skills in areas like disaster management, bomb detection, driving, swimming, diving, or motorboat operation will be given priority.
Salary and Benefits
Salaries for SAP Personnel
The recruitment will fill 15,821 SAP positions, including 148 Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs), 15,135 SAP constables, and 538 cooks. The monthly remuneration is set at ₹35,000 for JCOs, ₹30,000 for SAP constables, and ₹25,000 for cooks. Additionally, these personnel will receive allowances for uniforms, travel, and leave, similar to those of regular Bihar Police personnel.
According to the recruitment notification, SAP personnel may also be assigned to other departments such as Transport, Excise, and Mining, and can be transferred between districts, but will not be posted in their home district.
