UPSSSC Recruitment, UPSSSC ASO-ARO 2026: Exciting news for job seekers in Uttar Pradesh! The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has announced an extension for the application period for the Assistant Statistical Officer (ASO) and Assistant Research Officer (ARO) recruitment for 2026. In addition to the extended deadline, the number of available positions has also been increased significantly. Originally set for fewer posts, the recruitment will now cover a total of 1,565 vacancies. As per the updated notification from the Commission, candidates can now apply online until May 18, 2026. The final date for fee payment and application corrections is set for May 25, 2026.

**New Vacancies Across Multiple Departments**
According to the latest notification from UPSSSC, several new positions have been added across various government sectors. The majority of vacancies are within the Economics and Statistics Division under the Planning Department. Additional roles have been introduced in departments such as Industry and Enterprise Promotion, Agriculture, Medical and Health Services, Higher Education, Animal Husbandry, and the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited. With these additions, the total number of vacancies has reached 1,565. The Commission has also outlined specific horizontal reservation quotas for candidates from reserved categories and those with disabilities in the revised notification.

**Eligibility Criteria for Applicants**
To apply for these roles, candidates must possess a postgraduate degree in Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics, Commerce, Economics, or Statistics from a recognized institution. Knowledge of Hindi in the Devanagari script is also required. Additionally, candidates must pass the UP PET 2024 to be eligible for this recruitment. Preference may be given to those with a diploma in Computer Science or a recognized computer proficiency certification.

**Age Requirements**
As per the notification, applicants must be at least 21 years old and not exceed 40 years of age, with age calculated as of July 1, 2024. Candidates from reserved categories will be eligible for age relaxation according to Uttar Pradesh government regulations.

**Selection Process**
The selection will begin with a written examination. Candidates who pass this exam will then go through document verification. The final selection will be based on the written exam results and the eligibility criteria set by the Commission.
