New Delhi. Amul on Wednesday announced raising milk prices by Rs 2 per liter across India due to rising costs. The new rates will be applicable from tomorrow i.e. 14th May. Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) sells its products under the Amul brand. The last price increase was on May 1, 2025.
GCMMF said in a statement that it has “increased milk prices by Rs 2 per liter across India with effect from May 14.” It said the increase is about 2.5-3.5 per cent per litre, which is lower than the average food inflation rate. “This increase in prices is being done due to increase in the overall cost of operation and production of milk,” GCMMF said. This year, the cost of animal feed, milk packaging material and fuel has increased significantly.” This cooperative organization said that its member unions have also increased the price of purchasing milk from farmers by Rs 30 per kilogram of fat, which is 3.7 percent more than in May 2025. GCMMF is one of the leading suppliers of milk in India.
