Kolkata Knight Riders hope for the IPL playoffs in 2026 crashed after the Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated them by 6 wickets in Raipur on May 13. RCB will thank to Virat Kohli for his 9th IPL century, while Kohli might thank Rovman Powell and especially Vaibhav Arora for dropping a sitter in the first part of his innings.
Jitesh Sharma finished the chase with a boundary, having five balls left in the innings. RCB, meanwhile, moves to the top of the points table, while KKR still has to win all three and look at the other team's performance for qualification.
KKR had to defend 192 runs against RCB, which was without their last four matches' MVP Varun Chakravarthy. And it was clearly visible. Kartik Tyagi was really impressive for the Knight alongside Sunil Narine. The newbie Saurabh Dube had a good start but got smacked later. Apart from that, all went expensive.
And the catching. Rovman Dropped Kohli on 21, and the Vaibhav dropped him soon after that. And RCB took all advantage of it.
