That short pitched ball of Tyagi first hit Bethel's hand and then his helmet. When there was a shock due to the ball hitting the helmet, the gold chain came off from the neck and fell down.

Now Jacob Bethel was out and returned to the dugout as the ball was caught by Karthik Tyagi before it hit the ground. But in the meanwhile he did not even realize that his gold chain had fallen on the pitch itself.

After the dismissal of Jacob Bethel, the next RCB batsman Devdutt Padikkal came to bat, who found the gold chain that had fallen on the pitch of his teammate, which he picked up and gave to the umpire.
