So far, 57 games have been played in IPL 2026. Eight teams are fighting for four spots with 13 matches left. The race for the Playoffs is getting intense and every game is crucial now. Victory is one step towards the top four while defeat is another nail in the coffin and for some teams, elimination from the race.
RCB and GT in a Class by ThemselvesRuling the roost are RCB and GT. Both have 16 points but RCB are 1st on the points table because of their net run rate. These teams are not only well-poised to finish in the top four but have a shot to be in the top two. That will boost their chances of entering the final. They have a couple of games left so the odds are in their favour.

DC and KKR are placed at 7th and 8th respectively. DC lead KKR by one point but have played one extra game. Neither side has their fate in their own hands because they have to depend on other results as well even if they win all remaining matches. But one more loss for each team means saying goodbye to finishing in the top four.
Four-Way Battle for Two Potential Playoffs SpotsThe door is open for SRH, PBKS, CSK and RR. SRH are 3rd and PBKS are one point behind them. PBKS lost their last four games and that’s why they now have to play catchup. CSK and RR also have an opening as both have the same points but CSK are 5th due to net run rate while RR are 6th. Both are just one point behind PBKS and two points behind SRH. So that cluster is going to be competitive.
LSG and MI Can Spoil the Party for OthersThe two teams that are out of contention for the Playoffs are LSG and MI. Both were eliminated on the same day. They have pride to play for and perhaps can spoil the party for the other teams who are still trying to make it to the next round. A team that has nothing to lose is the most dangerous.
Who Will Win IPL 2026?By May 24, we shall know who all are in the Playoffs. The 1st two teams play Qualifier 1 on May 26 with the winner going straight to the final.
