Harsh Goenka News: Harsh Goenka, a leading industrialist and chairman of the RPG Group, has issued a major "commandment" to his companies. Following an appeal from Prime Minister Narendra Modi , Goenka has issued strict instructions to his group.

Harsh Goenka has made it clear through a post on X that the emphasis will now be on savings rather than "show-off" and "wasteful spending." His key directive is "work from home." Goenka has asked all companies to encourage employees who can work from home. Furthermore, executives will now be flying less frequently.

According to the new guidelines...

• Foreign travel will be drastically curtailed.
• Domestic flights will be used only when absolutely necessary.
• Inter-city meetings and conferences, which require travelling to other cities, will now be shifted to virtual mode.

Harsh Goenka has also taken a strong stance on the environment. All new cars purchased or leased by the group will be electric (EV) or hybrid. Employees have also been advised to carpool or use public transportation, such as buses and the metro, to commute to the office.

Harsh Goenka believes that internal reviews, interviews, and routine meetings should be leveraged for technology to save both time and money. He concluded his message by stating that these steps are not only to support the "national agenda," but also to strengthen a culture of responsibility and understanding within the company.

What appeal did PM Modi make?

Last week, PM Modi made several appeals to the countrymen. He urged them to avoid buying gold for a year. He also urged them to reduce their consumption of cooking oil, avoid foreign travel, and reduce their use of petrol and diesel.
