Zurich. The official song of the World Cup has been announced. FIFA, world football’s governing body, said on Friday that Shakira and Nigerian singer-songwriter Burna Boy have jointly released the song ‘Dai Dai’, which will be the official song of the tournament starting on June 11 in North America.
FIFA said, “Dai Dai is a vibrant embodiment of football, culture and unity, a brilliant blend of the powerful voices and energy that Shakira and Burna Boy are known for around the world.”
“Introducing ‘Dai Dai’ from Maracana Stadium, the official song of the FIFA World Cup 2026,” Colombian singer Shakira shared a minute-long teaser clip of the song on social media in early May.
FIFA said it would use royalties from the song, available on major streaming platforms, to support the FIFA Global Civic Education Fund.
FIFA also announced that an event will be held during halftime of the final in New Jersey on July 19, in which Madonna, Shakira and boy band BTS will be the main performers. The World Cup will be played jointly hosted by America, Canada and Mexico.
