CBI has arrested the main kingpin of this entire scam, whose identity is P.V. She is born in the form of Kulkarni. The revelations made in the CBI investigation have raised serious questions on the security arrangements and examination process of NTA. Arrested accused P.V. Kulkarni himself was an important part of NTA’s examination process, due to which he had direct access to confidential question papers.
The accused is a resident of Latur
According to the investigating agency, the main accused is P.V. Kulkarni is originally from Latur, Maharashtra and has been a professor of chemistry at the prestigious Dayanand College, Latur. Presently he had retired from this post and was active as a chemistry lecturer in Pune. After this, CBI laid a trap and detained Kulkarni and after a long interrogation, he was formally arrested.
Special class called at home
The CBI investigation has exposed the way this racket works. In the last week of April 2026, just a few days before the NEET exam, Kulkarni, with the help of Manisha Waghmare, rallied students who were ready to pay a hefty amount. After this, a special coaching class was conducted at Kulkarni’s private residence in Pune.
In this class, Kulkarni directly dictated the questions appearing in the question paper, their options and correct answers to the students. Students noted all these questions in their notebooks and memorized them completely. Later, when the investigation teams did the matching, they found that the questions in the original question paper of the NEET-UG exam held on May 3, 2026 were 100% matching with the questions written in these copies.
nationwide raids
Special teams of CBI have been working day and night in this case since the case was registered on May 12, 2026 on the written complaint of the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education. Within the last 24 hours, CBI has raided several suspicious locations across the country. During this period, a large quantity of digital evidence, important documents, electronic devices and mobile phones have been seized, which have been sent for forensic examination.
Before the arrest of Kulkarni, the investigating agency had already arrested 7 other accused from Jaipur, Gurugram, Nashik, Pune and Ahilyanagar. Of these, 5 accused are on police remand, while two are being taken to Delhi on transit remand.
