Story
The story of Inspector Avinash Mishra is based on the 1990s and is inspired by true events. We all know this very well. An attempt could definitely have been made to give it a new style to some extent. Or if not a completely new approach, at least a slightly different approach could have been adopted. After all, filmmakers often take ‘cinematic liberties’. Even brings a dead person back to life. Yet in this particular series, they failed to add any life to the story. You will like this series only if you like old movies with conflicts between police leaders and gangsters.
How is this series?
This series gives you the same feeling as those classic gangster films of old. There is nothing bad in it but there is nothing new in it either. It seems formula-based and cliché. It feels like we’ve seen all this a thousand times before. The only difference is that the characters in those films were fictional whereas here we have been shown the true story of Inspector Avinash.
Be it the scenes at the police station or the confrontation between the police and the politicians, it has the same old style of speaking dialogues which we have seen again and again. The sub-plot to Inspector Avinash and his son is able to create some emotional connect, but the scenes in which Inspector Avinash confronts the leaders and the mafia do not create any real thrill.
All the actors are capable but due to weak writing and treatment, they could not do much to improve the story. It is true that the story is from the 1990s but many other stories of that era have been adapted into films or series in a more effective manner than this story.
