According to the latest forecast of IMD, the effect of heat wave is going to increase continuously in many parts of North and Central India from May 16. The temperature in UP, MP, Bihar and Chhattisgarh may remain 3-5 degrees above normal during the next 4-5 days. The mercury is expected to reach around 45°C in cities like Agra, Prayagraj, Banda, Bhopal, Indore and Raipur. The impact of thunderstorms and strong winds can be seen in Ranchi and surrounding areas. Weather experts have advised people to avoid going out in the afternoon, wear light clothes, carry ORS and drink enough water. If dizziness, headache or extreme weakness is felt, immediate medical help is needed. The heat may become more dangerous in the coming days.
