Rohit Shetty’s comedy franchise Golmaal is about to get bigger and grander. The shoot for its next part, Golmaal 5, has begun with almost all the old cast members and Akshay Kumar. Amid excitement for Akshay’s exclusion in the cast, reports emerged that he is being paid a huge fee for Golmaal 5. However, the film’s production house cleared the air before the speculation took life of its own:

Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal series is one of the most successful comedy franchises in Bollywood. So, obviously the hype around its next instalment, Golmaal 5, is at an all-time high. A latest update about Akshay Kumar’s fees for Golmaal 5 raised eyebrows but turns out it’s not true.
It was speculated that Akshay was being paid a handsome remuneration for starring in Golmaal 5. But the spokesperson for Rohit Shetty Picturez dismissed the rumours, saying they are false and “baseless.”
In an official statement, the spokesperson said, “There have been several speculative reports doing the rounds regarding the commercials and remuneration associated with Golmaal 5 particularly in relation to Akshay Kumar’s fee for the film. We would like to categorically state that these claims are completely baseless, inaccurate and purely speculative.”
The spokesperson also said that the production house has not revealed any details about fees paid to any cast members.
The spokesperson added, “The commercials of the film are confidential in nature and are never disclosed publicly by any of the core parties associated with the project. Any numbers, figures or financial details currently being reported are strictly rumours and untrue. We are making this film with a lot of love for all of you. All we request is your support in this journey.”
About ‘Golmaal 5’The cast members in Golmaal 5 include Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu and Shreyas Talpade, along with Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Mukesh Tiwari and Ashwini Kalsekar who will be reprising their roles from the previous movies in the franchise.
Priyamani is also a new member in the cast of Golmaal 5. The South actor is best known for her role in Manoj Bajpayee’s The Family Man. Even though more details about her character have not been disclosed, reports say that she has already started filming.
Golmaal 5 is being touted as Shetty’s ‘most ambitious film’ yet. The hype multiplied after it was confirmed that Akshay Kumar will have a comic face-off with Ajay Devgn in Golmaal 5. Even though there is no official confirmation, the high-energy comedy drama is expected to be released in 2027.
