Thousands of devotees have come to visit Bhojshala temple located in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh. From today onwards worship will be done in the temple as per the rituals. This has become possible after the order of Madhya Pradesh High Court. There was a dispute going on regarding the temple for the last many years, where on one side the people of Hindu side claimed that it is the ancient temple of Maa Saraswati ji i.e. Vagdevi, while on the other side the Muslim side claimed that it is Kamal Maula Masjid. On May 15, Madhya Pradesh High Court gave its verdict regarding this dispute. Under this decision, Bhojshala complex has been considered as the temple of Mother Saraswati. At the same time, it has been said that other land will be given to the Muslim side.

According to the decision of Madhya Pradesh High Court, now only puja will be done in Bhojshala temple. For your information, let us tell you that in the year 2003, ASI (Archaeological Survey of India) had decided that both worship and namaz would be held in this complex. Due to this, a situation of dispute remained between the two parties. For this reason, now Madhya Pradesh High Court has canceled that decision of ASI.

Controversy regarding Bhojshala temple

In the year 2000, ASI (Archaeological Survey of India) excavated the temple complex so that its history could be ascertained. During the excavation, ASI found sculptures, Sanskrit and Prakrit inscriptions, as well as Arabic-Persian inscriptions. After this, in the year 2003, ASI had decided that the Hindu side would be able to offer prayers on Tuesday, while the Muslim side would be able to offer namaz on Friday.

After this, in the year 2022, Hindu Front for Justice and Bhoj Utsav Committee filed a petition in the court. In this petition, it was demanded that the scientific investigation of ASI should be conducted again. After this, in 2024, Madhya Pradesh High Court ordered ASI survey. On the basis of this survey, the court has considered the Bhojshala premises as a temple.

People’s reaction to the court’s decision

After this decision, different reactions have emerged from Hindu and Muslim parties. On one side, Hindu devotees are sitting in the temple premises and reciting Hanuman Chalisa. Also many women are worshiping in the temple.

On the other hand, many Muslim people are not happy with the court’s decision. One person said, ‘We do not agree with this decision of the court. The court has given its verdict on the basis of ASI’s investigation, whereas we already had no confidence in that investigation.
