Nine of the ten most valuable companies saw their combined market capitalisation shrink by Rs 3.12 trillion last week, with Reliance Industries taking the steepest hit. Its valuation dropped by Rs 1,34,445.77 crore to Rs 18,08,420.81 crore, though it retained its position as the country’s most valuable firm.
In the latest rankings, HDFC Bank held the second spot, followed by Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Tata Consultancy Services, Bajaj Finance, Larsen & Toubro, Hindustan Unilever and Life Insurance Corporation of India.
Bharti Airtel stood out as the only gainer during the week, with its market capitalisation rising by Rs 42,470.13 crore to Rs 11,60,525.16 crore.
Among the laggards, State Bank of India lost Rs 52,245.3 crore, bringing its valuation down to Rs 8,88,862.32 crore. Bajaj Finance declined by Rs 27,892.28 crore to Rs 5,66,717.74 crore, while Tata Consultancy Services shed Rs 47,415.04 crore to Rs 8,19,062.65 crore.

Indian equity markets ended the week on a weak note, weighed down by sectoral pressures and a record low in the rupee, which dampened investor sentiment. The BSE Sensex fell 160.73 points (0.21%) to close at 75,237.99, while the Nifty 50 declined 46.10 points (0.19%) to settle at 23,643.50.
