Students aiming for Post Graduate (PG) courses at Delhi University (DU) have reason to celebrate as the university has launched the registration process for the 2026-27 academic year. Interested candidates can apply through the official portal until June 7. Admissions will be determined solely based on the scores from the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-PG), and a valid CUET score is mandatory for admission.
Importance of CUET Scores
The DU administration emphasizes that students must take the CUET-PG exam to gain admission into PG programs. A merit list will be created based on the scores from this examination, followed by the seat allocation process. Applicants are encouraged to provide accurate information during the application to prevent any issues later.
New PG Course Structure Under NEP
In line with the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Delhi University is introducing two types of PG courses: one-year and two-year Master's programs. This change aims to provide students with flexible options that suit their academic and professional goals.
Current Applications Open for Two-Year Courses
At present, the application process is available only for the two-year PG courses. Applications for one-year Master's programs will be announced later through a different portal.
Application Fee Structure
The application fees for DU PG admissions vary by category. Candidates from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are required to pay ₹100 per course. In contrast, students from General, OBC-NCL, and EWS categories will need to pay ₹250 per program.
Late Application Opportunities
For those who miss the initial application deadline, the university will provide a 'Mid-Entry Window' where students can apply by paying an additional fee of ₹1,000. Additionally, 'Spot Admission' rounds will be held to fill any remaining seats. Students are advised to frequently check the portal for updates regarding the admissions process.
