Vastu Shastra: These 5 Wrong Places to Keep a Peacock Feather Can Alter Your Destiny—Potentially Leading to Significant Loss..

In Vastu Shastra, the peacock feather is considered extremely sacred. Adorning the crown of Lord Krishna, the peacock feather is believed to dispel negative energy from the home and usher in happiness and prosperity.

This is precisely why people choose to display them in their homes; however, did you know that according to Vastu principles, there is a specific direction and location designated for placing a peacock feather?

If placed in the wrong areas of the house, it can lead to severe financial losses and domestic discord rather than bringing benefits. Therefore, let us explore those specific spots in the home where one should strictly avoid placing a peacock feather.

**On the Walls of Bathrooms or Toilets**
According to Vastu Shastra, bathrooms and toilets are the primary abodes of Rahu and negative energy. If a wall in your bedroom or living room happens to be adjacent to a bathroom wall, strictly refrain from placing a peacock feather on it. Doing so neutralizes the positive energy of the feather and leads to an increase in illnesses within the household.

**In Storerooms or Dark Corners**
A peacock feather should always be kept in a clean, well-ventilated space. Placing a peacock feather in the home's storeroom, in a cluttered area, or in completely dark corners creates a Vastu defect (Vastu Dosha) within the house. Furthermore, this hinders the progress of family members and leads to continuous financial losses in business ventures.

**In the Safe or Wealth Zone**
People often place a peacock feather near their safe (or locker) to encourage financial growth—a practice that is generally considered auspicious. However, one must exercise caution: the feather should never be placed *inside* the safe amidst clutter, nor should it be placed directly on the floor beneath the safe. Instead, the peacock feather should always be positioned *on top* of the safe or directly *in front* of it, ensuring that it remains illuminated by light; otherwise, money may begin to drain away gradually and unnecessarily.

**On the Wall Facing South**
In Vastu, the South direction is regarded as the domain of Lord Yama (the God of Death) and the *Pitras* (ancestral spirits). Placing a peacock feather in this direction creates an atmosphere of fear, stress, and mental unrest within the home. The most auspicious directions for placing a peacock feather are considered to be East or North-West.

Directly Beneath the Main Entrance
A peacock feather should always be placed at a high level. It must never be positioned in the lower section of the home's main entrance, nor in a location where it might be accidentally touched by someone's feet while entering or exiting, or where it could be exposed to dust from sweeping. Disrespecting a peacock feather directly invites misfortune.
