Aadhaar Update: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the facility to update Aadhaar documents for free on the myAadhaar portal for another year. Now, Aadhaar cardholders can update the documents linked to their Aadhaar without any fee until June 14, 2027. This information was provided by the UIDAI itself. According to the UIDAI, the deadline for this facility has been extended in light of the positive response from the public, as a large number of people are updating their data online. Furthermore, the UIDAI has announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the mAadhaar app will be discontinued soon. Users will be able to download a new Aadhaar app to replace it.
**Last Date for Free Aadhaar Updates**
You can now update your Aadhaar card documents completely free of cost through the myAadhaar portal until June 14, 2027. Previously, a fee was charged for this service; however, the UIDAI has now extended the free service period for another year. According to the UIDAI, this facility will remain in effect from June 15, 2026, to June 14, 2027. This update can be performed for free exclusively through the myAadhaar portal. The UIDAI also stated that a new app will be launched shortly. The new app will offer several enhanced features, such as secure Aadhaar sharing via QR codes, improved privacy controls, and even easier access to Aadhaar services.
Aadhaar cardholders can now update their identity and address-related documents online without paying any fees. This facility is available solely through the myAadhaar portal. The UIDAI advises individuals who obtained their Aadhaar cards several years ago—and have not updated them since—to update their documents. This ensures that the information within the Aadhaar database remains accurate and up-to-date.
