Donald Trump drew attention to a part of his body that has been worrying Fox News fans for months live on the programme. While boasting about the construction of the White House's new ballroom, the US president held up a picture of what the new development is projected to look like, while joking about how "thin" he was.

Instructing someone off-camera to hand him a large photograph of the planned ballroom, Trump held the board up against his waist and said: "Give that to me, I'll hold it. It's so beautiful. See, I look so thin. They'll say, 'Oh, he's gotten so thin', because I'm holding this. You don't have to look at my waist. You can look at this. You saw enough of my waist along with President Xi in China."

X users were quick to react, with one tweeting: "This is not a president, this is a sick, egotistical, demented madman!"

Trump's weight has been a cause for concern among voters, who worry for the president's health - and his own doctor has made a comment in the past.

Dr Mehmet Oz said on the Pod Force One podcast: "I mean, his testosterone was great. His regular blood tests were great. The one problem was his weight, which to this day he gives me a hard time about."

He was asked: "What is it about him that allows him to keep going, and is it a worry that maybe he needs to lose more weight or do more exercise or sleep more?", but Oz only said: "I think President Trump is healthy as a bull. I think his success and longevity, as well as good health, is his incredible passion for what he's doing. He believes 110% in the things that he's doing."

It comes after Trump was captured falling asleep on camera yet again at a Board of Peace meeting before startling awake to clap - just about managing to avoid falling completely out of his chair after slumping to the side.

One X user tweeted in response: "This is absolutely humiliating on the world stage. Trump does not have the stamina to remain president."
