Kangana Ranaut Bhopal Dowry Death Case Reaction

Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut reacted strongly to the recent Bhopal dowry death case, saying Indian society often abandons daughters once they marry.

She urged young women to focus on their careers and independence rather than rushing into marriage.

Kangana wrote on Instagram, “So many tragic news about married young women comes up every day. Many of these educated ladies beg their parents to help them out of suffocating situations before tragedies strike, but Indian society is notorious for abandoning daughters once they are married.” She advised women to “be their own hero” and build the life they want.

The case that prompted her reaction involved a 33-year-old woman found dead in Bhopal, allegedly due to dowry harassment. Police formed a six-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe her husband, Samarth and mother-in-law Giribala Singh, a retired judge. The victim’s family from Noida accused her in-laws of murder, claiming she wanted to return home before the tragedy.

Kangana, who recently completed 20 years in Bollywood, has won four National Film Awards and directed Emergency. She will make her international debut in Blessed Be the Evil in 2027. Since 2024, she has served as a Member of Parliament from Mandi on a BJP ticket.
