Aldi has issued advice for shoppers about the quietest times to visit its stores ahead of the late May bank holiday weekend. Shoppers have been told that between 8am and 9am and 7pm and 10pm will be the quietest times to pick up their shopping.

The German discounter's sotres will be open from 8am to 10pm on Friday, May 22, and Saturday, May 23, before opening from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, May 24. On bank holiday Monday itself (May 25), Aldi stores will generally be open from 8am until 8pm, but customers are advised to check local store hours online for any variations.

Rachel Geary, Communications Director at Aldi UK, said: "The late May bank holiday is the perfect chance to enjoy great food, make the most of the longer days and spend quality time with friends and family.

"At Aldi, shoppers can find everything they need at unbeatable value, so they can focus on what really matters - enjoying the long weekend."

It comes as Aldi also confirmed a major new update to its middle aisle with the return of its Festival Range landing in stores from May 31.

Designed to help shoppers get festival-ready for less, the latest Specialbuys line-up promises everything from tents and sleeping bags to portable tech and camping accessories starting from £2.99.

As festival season gets underway, Aldi is catering to budget-conscious music lovers looking to avoid "tent-fold" prices on outdoor essentials.

But it has warned shoppers to move quickly, as with all Specialbuys, once items are gone, they're gone.

Items include festival essentials including:

  • Teepee Family Tent - £39.99
  • Festival Trolley - £19.99
  • Folding Camping Table - £12.99
  • Lightweight Camping Chair - £12.99
  • Mat Assortment - £12.99
  • Light Sleeping Bag - £12.99
