Redmi Turbo 5 India Launch: Xiaomi’s Turbo series coming to India for the first time
Launch Timeline and Amazon Listing
According to industry sources and leaks, Redmi Turbo 5 can be launched in India in the first or second week of June 2026 (likely date is June 10). Earlier, Xiaomi used to rebrand its Turbo series smartphones in India and sell them under the name of Poco (POCO F-series), but this time the company wants to maintain the identity of this series in the market directly under Redmi branding. The teaser page that went live on Amazon has revealed the black color variant of the phone and the dual camera sensor design given separately on its rear panel.
This smartphone was launched in China earlier this year in January. The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification and current teasers for the Indian market indicate that the key specifications of the Indian variant will remain similar to the Chinese model.
Expected Specifications: Dimensity 8500-Ultra and massive 7,560mAh battery
Redmi Turbo 5 is mainly designed keeping in mind the users doing gaming and heavy tasks. The list of its possible features is as follows:
- Display: It will have a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display which will support 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 3,500 nits. For eye protection, 3840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i will be provided.
- Processor: The phone will be provided with MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra processor built on 4nm architecture, which will come with Mali-G720 MC8 GPU for graphics.
- Battery and Charging: The biggest USP of this device is its 7,560mAh silicon-carbon battery, which supports 100W wired fast charging and 27W reverse wired charging.
- Camera: For photography, there will be a 50-megapixel main camera (Sony IMX882 sensor, with OIS support) and 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens at the back. A 20-megapixel selfie shooter will be provided in the front.
- Operating system and durability: This phone will work on Xiaomi’s new HyperOS 3 based on out-of-the-box Android 16. Along with this, it will be given flagship-level IP68 and IP69K rating for protection against water and dust.
What is the report on price and competition
Although the company has not yet announced official Indian prices, its starting price in China is 1,999 Yuan (approximately ₹28,126). Keeping in mind the rising prices of memory chips globally and local taxes, tech experts estimate that this phone can be launched in the price range of ₹ 35,000 to ₹ 42,000 in India.
After arriving in the Indian market, this phone is going to compete directly with established smartphones like the already existing OnePlus Nord 6 (which comes with a 9,000mAh battery and Snapdragon 8s Gen 4) and Motorola Edge 70 Pro. For Xiaomi fans, this device will bring a new option with long battery life and excellent gaming performance.
