Fresh off securing the Roshn Saudi League title, Joao Felix enjoyed another moment of triumph as the Al Nassr forward was named the 2025-26 Player of the Season on Friday.
The Portuguese star, who had lifted the league trophy just a day earlier at a jubilant Al Awwal Stadium, was chosen as the competition’s standout performer ahead of teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, golden boot winner Julian Quinones, Al Ahli’s Ivan Toney, and Al Hilal’s Ruben Neves.
Felix, who joined from English Premier League side Chelsea last summer, more than justified his selection with a brilliant debut campaign in the RSL. The attacker began with a hat-trick on his league debut and went on to score 20 goals while providing 13 assists — the highest tally in the 2025-26 season.
Across 33 appearances, Felix claimed nine Man of the Match honours and was twice recognised as Player of the Month.
The SPL Awards voting committee comprised head coaches and captains from all 18 clubs in the 2025-26 Roshn Saudi League, alongside 18 leading Saudi sports journalists and fans of the RSL.
Votes from coaches and captains accounted for 40 percent each, while the media contributed 15 percent and fans 5 percent of the final decision.
Al Nassr also earned further recognition as Jorge Jesus won Manager of the Season. The Portuguese coach, who had previously secured the same honour with Al Hilal in 2023-24, guided Al Nassr to their first RSL crown in seven years.
Clinching the league title on the final day, Al Nassr finished two points ahead of Al Hilal, winning 28 of their 34 matches. The champions topped the table for goals scored (91) and had the third-strongest defence (28 goals conceded). Their 17 clean sheets matched Al Ahli’s record for the season.
A key element of their success was a 16-match winning streak between mid-January and May — the longest in Al Nassr’s history. The team also started the season with 10 consecutive victories.
Jesus, who announced his departure from Al Nassr on Thursday after securing the title, claimed four of the season’s seven Manager of the Month awards.
Meanwhile, Musab Al Juwayr of Al Qadsiah added another accolade to his growing list, being named Saudi Player of the Season after winning the Young Player award last year.
The 22-year-old midfielder delivered 17 goal contributions (six goals and 11 assists) as Al Qadsiah secured a fourth-place finish. He ranked second in goal contributions behind only Al Ettifaq’s Khalid Al Ghannam in the 2025-26 campaign.
Regarded as a key figure in Saudi Arabia’s 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign, Al Juwayr was one of just four players in the RSL to complete over 2,000 passes during the season.
The Best Young Talent award went to Abdulaziz Al Elewa of Al Kholood. The 22-year-old winger impressed in his breakout season, scoring four times and assisting twice — contributing nearly 10 percent of his team’s total goals in 2025-26.
Al Elewa featured in 33 of Al Kholood’s 34 league fixtures and was named Young Player of the Month four times.
The season’s honours concluded with Julian Quinones claiming the Golden Boot as the league’s top scorer. The Al Qadsiah striker, who will represent Mexico at the upcoming FIFA World Cup, netted 33 goals, overtaking Ivan Toney (32) with a final-day hat-trick against Al Ittihad.
Quinones earned a league-best 14 Man of the Match awards and became only the fifth player in RSL history to record four hat-tricks in a single season.
While Toney narrowly missed out on the top scorer prize, his Al Ahli teammate Edouard Mendy captured the 2025-26 Golden Glove, awarded to the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets.
Although Al Hilal’s Yassine Bono matched Mendy’s total of 14 clean sheets, the Senegalese No.1 edged ahead due to his superior goals-conceded-per-game ratio and penalty-saving record. Mendy averaged 0.69 goals conceded per game compared to Bono’s 0.77, and he saved three penalties while Bono had none. Both goalkeepers made 46 saves over the season.
