Ananya Panday’s Bharatanatyam triggers troll fest

Ananya Panday is no stranger to online trolling. From criticism over her acting skills to memes targeting her expressions, the actress has faced frequent social media mockery since her debut.
Her performance in “Liger” opposite Vijay Deverakonda had earlier attracted heavy criticism, with many mocking her acting style. However, in recent times, the trolling had reduced as audiences felt she was gradually improving.
Now, Ananya is once again facing online heat after a scene from her latest film “Chand Mera Dil,” released on May 22, went viral. In the sequence, she appears as an engineering student performing Bharatanatyam in a traditional outfit before a Nataraja backdrop.
Social media users particularly targeted her dance movements and mudras, calling them stiff and robotic. Memes quickly flooded platforms, with one viral post joking that Bharatanatyam “evolved in 200 BCE and ended with Ananya Panday in 2026.”
