RCB’s performance in IPL playoffs so far

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have qualified for the playoffs 11 times in IPL history so far. In the playoffs, the team has played a total of 17 matches, out of which they have won 7 matches and lost 10 matches. RCB have made it to the final four times so far. Playoff format was introduced in IPL from 2011. Since then, Bangalore have played a total of 3 Qualifier-1, 3 Qualifier-2 and 5 Eliminator matches.

RCB Performance in Qualifier 1

Bangalore have made it to Qualifier-1 thrice in IPL history so far. They have won 2 matches and lost once. RCB entered Qualifier-1 for the first time in 2011. However, they lost to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in this match. After this, in the 2016 season, RCB again qualified for Qualifier-1 by finishing in the top two in the points table. At that time, the team put on a brilliant performance and defeated Gujarat Lions to reach the finals. Then in IPL 2025, RCB played Qualifier-1 for the third time.

Under the leadership of Rajat Patidar, the team secured their place in the final by defeating Punjab Kings. In Qualifier-2, RCB managed to win only one out of three matches and lost twice. Also, RCB have played four finals and won only one of them. Interestingly, the team won their first IPL title under the leadership of Rajat Patidar last season.

RCB’s strong performance in IPL 2026

This season, RCB has put in a strong performance to top the points table. The team won 9 out of 14 matches and lost 5 matches. RCB occupied the first position with 18 points. Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad also had 18 points, but RCB surpassed both the teams in net run rate. Defending champions RCB are now on their way to another final. Given the team’s current form and experience in the playoffs, RCB is considered a strong contender for the title this year as well.
