Big decision of Subhendu government of Bengal regarding liquor

West Bengal Chief Minister Subhendu Adhikari took a big decision on Tuesday (May 26). He said that liquor shops will not be allowed to be opened within a radius of one kilometer of all schools, colleges and temples in the state. This is considered a big decision of Shubhendu government regarding liquor. The important thing is that keeping the poor in mind, he has also made a big announcement regarding fish and rice.

Bengal Chief Minister Subhendu Adhikari said in Kalyani, ‘Liquor shops will not be opened within a radius of one kilometer of schools and colleges as well as temples. This will not be allowed. This decision of CM Shubhendu is considered very important. Because of this, the environment around schools and colleges will be expected to improve. Importantly, the government will release the form for Annapurna Yojana from May 27, under which women will be given Rs 3,000 per month.

It is noteworthy that liquor is completely banned in Bihar and Gujarat. Liquor was banned in Bihar in April 2016. Liquor prohibition is completely implemented in Mizoram and Nagaland also. In December 2016, the Supreme Court had given an important decision regarding liquor. The court had said that there would be no liquor shops within 500 meters of the highway. However, after this the court clarified the situation in 2024 and mentioned religious and educational institutions.

Bengal CM Subhendu Adhikari also made an important announcement regarding fish and rice. He said that fish-rice meal will be made available at Rs 5 in 400 special canteens across Bengal.
