The festival of Eid al-Adha i.e. Bakrid is not limited only to worship and sacrifice. On this day, delicious food is eaten with family and friends and the Eid feast is not considered incomplete unless there are hot, juicy and spice-filled kebabs on the table. Whether roasted on coal fire, cooked in a pan or baked in the oven, kebabs become a taste in everyone’s mouth. In India, on the occasion of Bakrid, mutton and chicken kebabs are most liked, but now even vegetarian people are not far behind. 1. Mutton Seekh Kebab – The most popular star of Eid
It is prepared by mixing fresh mince (minced mutton), finely chopped onion, green coriander, mint, ginger-garlic paste and special spices well. This mixture is applied on iron skewers and cooked well on coal or on the grill. When these kebabs are cooked, the aroma of spices and smoke spreads all around. Slightly crispy from outside and very soft and juicy from inside. If you serve hot seekh kebab with mint chutney, onion rings and lemon, the taste doubles.
2. Chicken Malai Kebab – Light and creamy taste
Chicken Malai Kebab is the best option for those who do not like food with heavy spices. Chicken pieces are marinated well in curd, cream, cheese, mild spices and cashew paste. After marinating for a few hours, they are grilled or baked. These kebabs are golden in appearance and very soft to eat. Their combination with green mint chutney is wonderful.
3. Galouti Kebab – Pride of Lucknow
The story of Galouti Kebab starts from Lucknow. These kebabs are so soft that they melt as soon as you put them in your mouth. It is made by mixing finely ground mutton with dozens of spices, nutmeg, mace, rose water and roasted gram flour. In the traditional way, they are cooked on the pan in ghee or oil. Shami kebabs are made by boiling minced meat and chana dal and grinding them with spices. Then these round tikkis are fried in oil until they turn golden. 5. Reshmi Kebab – Prince of Chicken
The name of Reshmi Kebab itself tells the story of its soft texture. Chicken is prepared by marinating it in curd, cream, cashew paste and mild spices. These kebabs are so soft that they are like silk.
6. Paneer Tikka Kebab – A favorite of vegetarian guests
