India AMCA Stealth Fighter Jet Project: India has taken a historic leap towards self-reliance in the defense sector. The Central Government has sent a Request for Proposal to three private companies for the fifth generation Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) project that will increase the strength of the Indian Air Force manifold. This move is not only considered important for increasing private participation in the defense sector, but it has also created new concerns for neighboring enemy countries China and Pakistan.
These three big companies got the proposal
According to defense sources, Ministry of Defence has selected three major groups to develop this ambitious aircraft in collaboration with the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA). These include the consortium of Tata Advanced Systems, L&T-BEL and the consortium of Bharat Forge-BEML-Data Patterns.
The most shocking and important fact of this entire process is that the public sector giant Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has been kept out of the race, which shows the growing confidence of the government on the capabilities of the private sector.
15 thousand crore budget
Under this project, the winning company will prepare five prototypes of AMCA at a cost of Rs 15,000 crore. According to the government plan, the selected company will have to prepare these prototypes by the year 2031. These aircraft will be equipped with state-of-the-art avionics, supercruise technology and lethal weapon systems, which will make them among the best fighter aircraft in the world.
What is stealth technology?
Stealth fighter jets are the ‘invisible warriors’ of modern warfare. Are considered. They are designed in such a way that they do not come under the radar, infrared sensors and other surveillance systems of the enemy. Their special construction materials and engine technology make them virtually undetectable on radar, enabling them to penetrate enemy territory and attack without being detected.

Currently America’s F-35 and F-22, China’s J-20 and Russia’s Sukhoi Su-57 are prime examples of this technique. This indigenous effort by India will include it in the club of select countries which have their own 5th generation stealth technology.
The strength of the Air Force will increase
The aim of the government is to equip the Air Force with a batch of completely indigenous combat aircraft through the indigenous fighter aircraft Tejas and Amka. This project will not only increase India’s firepower but also reduce its dependence on foreign military hardware. Private sector participation is expected to speed up the construction process and ensure quality at par with global standards.
