The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) 2026 between June 22 and June 30, 2026; the application process for this examination ran from April 29 to May 24, 2026. The NTA has now opened a correction window for candidates who have already submitted their applications. Candidates wishing to make changes or corrections to their forms may do so until 11:30 PM on May 28, 2026. Thereafter, the window will be closed, and forms containing errors may be subject to rejection.

**How to Make Corrections to the Application Form?**
First, visit the official UGC NET website:ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
Next, click on the ‘Registration Window for UGC-NET June 2026 Examination’ link located on the homepage.
Registered candidates should click on the provided link.
Enter your application number and password, then click the 'Login' button.
Your application form will appear on the screen.
You may modify any details that you identify as incorrect.
Finally, resubmit your application form and save a copy for future reference.

**For How Many Subjects Will the Exam Be Conducted?**
The UGC NET 2026 examination will be held from June 22 to June 30. This examination will cover 87 subjects. Previously, the exam was conducted for only 85 subjects; however, two additional subjects have been introduced starting from this session. These new subjects are Statistics and Forestry. The City Slip for this examination is expected to be released on June 10, while the Admit Cards are anticipated to be issued on June 15, 2026.

**UGC NET June 2026 Examination Pattern**
The examination will consist of two papers, comprising objective-type multiple-choice questions.
Both papers will be conducted in a single session without any breaks.
The total duration of the examination will be 3 hours.

Except language-specific papers, the question papers will be available exclusively in Hindi and English. Paper-1 will consist of 50 questions carrying 100 marks, while Paper-2 will comprise 100 questions carrying 200 marks; thus, the examination will be conducted for a total of 300 marks.

Candidates will be awarded 2 marks for each correct answer, and there will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.

Why is the UGC NET Exam Conducted?
The NTA conducts the UGC NET examination twice a year, offering candidates the opportunity to become Assistant Professors, secure a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and pursue a Ph.D. The UGC NET examination consists of two papers: Paper 1 assesses Teaching Aptitude, while Paper 2 covers the candidate's specific subject.
