Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes has added yet another trophy to his growing collection after a phenomenal 2025/26 campaign.
Fernandes played a pivotal part in Manchester United’s successful season, helping the club secure a third-place Premier League finish and a return to the UEFA Champions League after a two-year gap.
Leading by example, the Portuguese midfielder recorded nine goals and a stunning 21 assists in the Premier League.
He registered his 21st assist of the season in the final match against Brighton & Hove Albion, providing a beautifully delivered corner that Patrick Dorgu headed in to open the scoring at the Amex Stadium.
With that assist, Fernandes surpassed Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne to set a new record for the most assists in a single Premier League season.
Following the final whistle at Brighton, Fernandes was honoured with the Coca-Cola Playmaker of the Season award. The previous weekend, he was also crowned the Premier League Player of the Season.
These honours come on top of him winning the Football Writers’ Association Player of the Year, the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year, and Manchester United’s Players’ Player of the Year awards.
The 31-year-old Portugal international has enjoyed a truly remarkable campaign and is widely regarded as the frontrunner for the PFA Player of the Year award.
On Wednesday, the Premier League confirmed that Fernandes had claimed the Player of the Matchweek award for Matchweek 38 after beating out several competitors.
This marks his sixth Matchweek award of the season—four more than any other player in the league.
In addition to his assist for Dorgu against Brighton, Fernandes also found the back of the net with a superb strike past Bart Verbruggen.
Reports indicate that the Manchester United captain secured 60 per cent of the fan vote for Matchweek 38.
The other nominees included Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Joao Palhinha (12 per cent), Arsenal winger Noni Madueke (nine per cent), Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins and United’s Patrick Dorgu (both six per cent), West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen (four per cent), and Sunderland’s Trai Hume (three per cent).
