JEE Advanced 2026: JEE Advanced result released, Shubham Kumar of Delhi zone topped

New Delhi, June 1 . The result of JEE (Advanced) 2026 examination conducted for admission to Indian Institutes of Technology i.e. IITs has been declared. A total of 1,79,694 candidates appeared for both the papers in the examination held on May 17 this year, out of which 56,880 candidates were successful. The successful candidates include 10,107 girl students. In this examination, Shubham Kumar of Delhi Zone secured first position in the Common Rank List (CRL) by scoring 330 marks out of 360.

Delhi zone’s dominance was seen in the top 10 of the common rank list. Shubham Kumar stood first, Kabir Chhillar stood second and Jatin Chahar stood third. Mohit Shekhar Shukla of Madras Zone stood fourth and Kuchi Sandeep stood fifth. Sixth rank B. Jayakrishna Srinivas, seventh by Arnav Gautam, eighth by Kanishka Jain, ninth by Medicetti Naga Saharsha and tenth by Darsh Sikka. At the same time, Aarohi Deshpande of Delhi zone has become the top female candidate of the country with 280 marks. He secured 77th rank in CRL.

This year a total of 1,87,389 candidates had registered for the exam. These included 1,44,276 men, 43,112 women and one third gender candidate. 1,39,131 male and 40,562 female candidates appeared in the examination. The successful candidates include 46,773 men and 10,107 women. Different toppers also emerged in different categories. B in EWS category. Jayakrishna Srinivas, Jatin Chahar in OBC-NCL, Covid Boob in SC category and Jatin Kumar in ST category stood first.

Arsh Jain topped in the PWD category. In zone wise performance, Madras Zone gave the best result. From here 14,294 candidates got success. After this, 12,389 candidates from Bombay Zone and 10,697 candidates from Delhi Zone were successful. There was a notable presence of candidates from Madras, Bombay and Delhi zones in the top 500 ranks also. To be included in the rank list, Common Rank List candidates were required to obtain at least 8 marks in each subject and 92 marks in total.

For OBC-NCL and EWS category, this limit was fixed at 7 marks in each subject and 82 marks in total. Whereas for SC, ST and PWD category candidates, the minimum qualifying marks were fixed at 4 marks in each subject and a total of 46 marks. Candidates who are successful in JEE (Advanced) 2026 will now be eligible for admission to the prestigious IITs and other premier technical institutes of the country by participating in the Joint Seat Allocation Process (JoSAA) counselling. With the result, the wait of lakhs of candidates has ended and now their eyes are set on the counseling and seat allotment process.
