In West Bengal, the government led by Subhendu Adhikari has expanded the cabinet. 35 MLAs took oath as ministers on Monday. In the cabinet of Subhendu Adhikari, MLA Jagannath Chattopadhyay, Swapan Dasgupta, Dr. Sharadwat Mukherjee, Dr. Kalyan Chakraborty, Ajoy Poddar have taken oath as cabinet ministers. Deepak Burman, Arjun Singh, Shankar Ghosh, Gauri Shankar Ghosh, Tapas Roy and Manoj Kumar Oraon have also got the status of cabinet ministers.

- Tapas Roy: He has been a senior leader of Trinamool Congress. He had also been the chief whip of the party in Trinamool Congress. Just before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he left TMC and joined BJP.
- Arjun Singh: He is a very powerful leader of Barrackpore area. There is a long history of defection. He was first in TMC, then BJP and became MP in 2019. After this he again returned to TMC, but angry over not getting a ticket in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he again left Trinamool Congress and returned to BJP.
