Indonesia will take on Myanmar in the opening Group A fixture of the 2026 AFF U-19 Championship.
The live broadcast of the Indonesia vs Myanmar match is scheduled for Monday night, June 1, 2026.
Kick-off is set for 8:00 PM WIB.
The Indonesia U-19 National Team’s match in the 2026 ASEAN U-19 Championship can be watched via live streaming.
The clash will take place at the North Sumatra Main Stadium in Deli Serdang.
The Indonesia U-19 squad is determined to secure a victory to boost their confidence for the upcoming Group A fixtures.
A win against Myanmar would serve as valuable motivation ahead of encounters with Timor Leste and Vietnam.
Head coach Nova Arianto emphasised that his side will not underestimate Myanmar’s strength.
Myanmar enter this tournament with solid preparation.
According to Nova, most of Myanmar’s players have undergone intensive training camps in Thailand and have been well-prepared through domestic U-21 competitions.
“We still regard Myanmar as a very strong team because they also held their training camp in Thailand,” said Nova Arianto during a press conference via voice recording received by BolaSport.com on Sunday, May 31, 2026.
“I heard, and I believe, they have been well-prepared. Many players in the Myanmar U-19 team also play in the U-21 league in Myanmar,” he added.
Nova Arianto wants the Indonesia U-19 team to turn every match in the ASEAN U-19 Championship into a victory.
He believes consistency will be the main key for his team to lift the trophy at the end of the tournament.
“Yes, as I always say from the beginning, my target is to win every match,” Nova stated.
“Becoming champions is our ultimate target, but I ask the players to stay focused on each game and aim to win them all,” he concluded.
The Indonesia U-19 National Team come into this tournament as defending champions.
In the previous edition held in Surabaya, Indonesia defeated Thailand in the final through a single goal scored by Jens Raven.
However, Nova Arianto does not want his team to feel pressured by that champion status.
“Personally, of course, I want to be the best, but I don’t want to burden the players. I just ask them to win every game,” said Nova Arianto.
“As Vietnam also mentioned, we will give 100 percent of what we have and see how far our capabilities can take us.”
“That will serve as our evaluation, and I hope the players do not feel pressured by the fact that we are the defending champions. As I’ve said before, I prefer to focus on the process — how we handle Myanmar first, followed by Timor Leste and Vietnam.”
“So yes, if you ask about my personal target, obviously I want to be the best and win every match,” he continued.
“Regarding the U-17 World Cup team, it’s actually not my area to comment on, but in football, anything can happen. I’m sure the preparations have been done well.”
“We were very close last time, but I believe that in the upcoming U-17 qualifiers in September, we can qualify again and aim for the AFC U-17 Cup and the World Cup,” he added.
