Applications for CBSE re-evaluation are currently underway. Regarding this, CBSE had previously provided an update stating that by 10:00 PM on the night of May 2, more than 28,000 students had applied for re-evaluation. The latest update reveals that by 9:30 AM on May 3, approximately 40,000 students had availed themselves of this facility and completed the application process without encountering any issues. However, questions have now been raised regarding the payment gateway for the re-evaluation process. Critics are questioning why only four specific banks have been designated for payments, asking how students or their parents are expected to make payments if they do not hold accounts with these specific banks. Nevertheless, CBSE has issued a response clarifying its stance on this matter.
The issue came to light when Atishi, the former Education Minister of Delhi and a leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), posted on her social media platform 'X' (formerly Twitter). Raising questions about the CBSE re-evaluation payment gateway, she wrote: "After delays in the launch of the CBSE re-evaluation portal, students have now discovered that payments can only be made through SBI, Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, or Indian Bank. So, if a student or their parents do not hold an account with any of these banks, does that mean they cannot apply for re-evaluation?"
**What Clarification Did CBSE Provide?**
In its clarification regarding this matter, CBSE stated: "Payment gateways for SBI, Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, and Indian Bank are available on the verification and re-evaluation portal. It is not mandatory for students to hold an account with these specific banks in order to complete the payment; rather, they may utilize any of these designated payment gateways to process their payment. Candidates can utilize the various online payment options available through these designated gateways—including UPI, Net Banking, and Credit/Debit Cards."
CBSE Advises Against Misleading Information
The Board has emphasized that the re-evaluation process is proceeding smoothly and that students should not rely on unofficial reports or misleading information circulating online. The Board has advised students and parents to rely solely on official CBSE communications for accurate information and updates regarding verification and re-evaluation applications. Students applying for these services are also advised to complete their application process before the deadline. Furthermore, students should carefully review all details entered in their applications before submission to avoid errors or delays in the process.
