Friends, there has been a sudden downfall in two of the biggest social media platforms Facebook and Instagram due to Meta server down on Friday evening, thousands of users complained of difficulties in accessing their accounts through both mobile apps and website, leading to a flood of concern and reactions online. Many users trying to refresh Facebook got this message: “Sorry, something went wrong.” Let us know the reason for this happening

This obstruction was not limited to any one area. Users in several countries, including India, reported experiencing similar issues around the same time. People in many cities of India complained of not being able to use Facebook and Instagram normally.

What did Downdetector tell?

According to Downdetector, the number of complaints increased rapidly. On June 12 at approximately 7:01 pm, the platform recorded 104,001 reports linked to Facebook. The problems were described as follows:

56% users had problems using the Facebook app.

25% reported difficulty logging into their accounts.

11% had trouble accessing the Facebook website.

Rest of the users reported other technical glitches.

“Facebook Down” trended on X

As the outage extended, users quickly turned to X to share their experiences and reactions. Soon, hashtags like #FacebookDown and #InstagramDown started trending on the platform.

Many users claimed that their Facebook accounts were automatically logging out, while others posted funny memes and GIFs to express their frustration over the unexpected outage.

Meta hasn’t explained the reason yet

At the time of writing, Meta had not released any official statement regarding the cause of the outage. The company has only acknowledged that it is working to fix the problem.

At present there is no official timeline as to when the services of Facebook and Instagram will be fully restored. Until then, users around the world will have to wait as Meta works to bring its platforms back online.
